If I Had Three Magic Genie Wishes… What Would I Ask For?

Daily writing prompt
You have three magic genie wishes, what are you asking for?

Good evening, CherryCoBiz family!

If there’s ever been a time I’d welcome a magic genie into my life, it’s now. My husband’s CDL disqualification earlier this year (check out the full story here) put a strain on us financially, and though he’s finally getting back in the truck next week, the idea of a few quick wishes to make life easier is tempting. But, as anyone knows, genie wishes aren’t always as straightforward as they seem!

My Three Genie Wishes: Proceed with Caution

If I had the chance, here’s how I’d use my three wishes—without falling into the money trap.

Wish #1: End World Hunger

I would love to know that no one goes to bed hungry. This wish is deeply personal because the thought of anyone, especially children, struggling without enough food breaks my heart. I’d ask for “an end to world hunger, achieved in a sustainable, equitable, and lasting way that doesn’t harm the environment.” Hopefully, that would ensure no tricky genie loopholes!

Wish #2: Enhanced Skills

This one’s a bit selfish, but it’s practical! I’d wish for fluency in every language or mastery in cooking. Why? Because having these skills would create more opportunities for me, which would ultimately benefit my family. Whether it’s growing my business, building connections with people from all over the world, or simply mastering new recipes, these skills would give me the freedom and capability to build a better future for us.

Wish #3: Cure for All Cancers

This wish is especially meaningful to me because I have friends and family who are cancer survivors. I’ve seen firsthand the impact this disease has on lives, and finding a cure would bring relief and hope to so many people. I’d make sure to wish for “a cure for all cancers that is universally accessible, affordable, and safe.” No tricks, genie!

Final Thoughts: Be Careful What You Wish For

So, there you have it—my three magic wishes. But remember, if you ever find a genie, be very specific. Word your wishes carefully, and think of the long-term consequences. And maybe, just maybe, steer clear of the money wish. It might save you a lot of headaches (and a potential IRS audit).

What about you? What would your three genie wishes be? Drop your thoughts in the comments below—I’d love to hear them!
