Happy Mother’s Day to All Moms: Celebrating the Heartbeat of Our Lives

Daily writing prompt
Share a story about someone who had a positive impact on your life.

Today, as we celebrate Mother’s Day, I want to extend my warmest wishes to all the moms, fur moms, and everyone who nurtures with love and care. It’s a day to honor the incredible women who shape our lives in countless ways.

Especially today, I am reflecting on the most influential person in my life: my mom. She has been my steadfast best friend, my pillar of support, and my greatest teacher. Even when I was a challenging friend to have, growing through mistakes and learning from them, her love never wavered. Her approach to parenting—filled with tough love—might have felt harsh at times, but it taught me resilience and gratitude for the upbringing I had.

My mom’s entrepreneurial spirit has been a huge inspiration to me. I remember the days, over 20 years ago, when we would go to work together at her real estate company. Those moments are not just memories but lessons that have profoundly shaped my commitment to CherryCoBiz and my approach to life.

As we approach her 68th birthday next month, my admiration only grows stronger. Her journey, her achievements, and her ongoing evolution amaze me daily. She is not just my mom but a beacon of inspiration, affecting my life in more positive ways than I can count.

I’ve written more about her incredible journey in a blog post on her book, “A Journey Through Time and Heritage.” This manuscript delves into our family’s Cherokee heritage and the pivotal Goingsnake Massacre—an event that holds personal significance thanks to our ancestors’ involvement. Through her writing, I’ve gained not just knowledge of our heritage but a profound connection to it.

Today, let’s not only celebrate mothers but also the stories they carry and the histories they teach us. Whether through the lessons they impart or the lives they touch, mothers shape the future one day at a time.

Here’s to my mom, to your mom, and to moms everywhere—Happy Mother’s Day! May this day be as wonderful and inspiring as you are.
