A glowing zodiac wheel surrounded by constellations on a starry background, with the phrase ‘The real magic is in the details’ in luminous script.

Sun Signs… And Then Some

Ever read a horoscope and thought, “That’s not me at all”? You’re not alone. Most of us know our Sun sign, but a one-line blurb in a magazine can’t possibly capture the real you. In fact, if it’s “right,” consider it pure luck — because you are so much more than a single sign.

Here’s the thing:

  • Sun sign – your core vitality, the “you” you project outward into the world.
  • Rising sign (Ascendant) – the version of you people meet first; the “cover” of your book.
  • Moon sign – your emotional undercurrent, your private self, and how you process feelings when no one’s looking.

While ancient astrologers saw the planets as gods, modern astrology often views them as archetypes — powerful symbols of human drives. Think of it this way: Mars is our drive for action, Venus represents our capacity for love, and Mercury is our need to communicate.

The Zodiac Wheel 101
Imagine a cosmic pie sliced into 12 equal pieces. Each slice is a zodiac sign, with its own personality, strengths, and challenges. Inside that wheel are your planets and houses — telling the story of how each sign’s energy shows up for you.

But let’s start simple. Here’s my quick-and-dirty take on the 12 signs — not gospel truth, but the flavor I’ve picked up over years of observing people and charts:

Aries (The Ram) – March 21–April 19
Fire starters. Spontaneous, impulsive, sometimes fickle. Bursts of ideas, not all of them make it to the finish line — and that’s okay, because their magic is in the spark.

Taurus (The Bull) – April 20–May 20
Stubborn, yes, but also lovers of comfort, beauty, and abundance. They’ll work for what they value but hate being rushed.

Gemini (The Twins) – May 21–June 20
The many faces of Gemini. Adaptable, curious, social chameleons who keep you guessing. Harder to “read” in person than most.

Cancer (The Crab) – June 21–July 22
Homebodies who guard their shells. Warm and likable, but can retreat or get cranky if they feel exposed.

Leo (The Lion) – July 23–August 22
Large-and-in-charge personalities with sincerity at their core. They need a stage (literal or figurative) to shine — and they’ll make sure everyone else gets a turn too.

Virgo (The Maiden) – August 23–September 22
Organized… usually. When they’re not, they really aren’t. Known for their attention to detail and a “let’s fix this” mindset.

Libra (The Scales) – September 23–October 22
“Not fair!” is their rallying cry. Seekers of balance, beauty, and good manners. Often drawn to older partners or refined environments.

Scorpio (The Scorpion) – October 23–November 21
Intense, loyal, deeply emotional. They’ll remember everything — including the stuff you wish they’d forget.

Sagittarius (The Archer) – November 22–December 21
Adventurous, blunt, fun. Loyal to their own truth more than to convention.

Capricorn (The Sea-Goat) – December 22–January 19
Driven, disciplined, strategic. Often seen as “the worker” of the zodiac, but their ambitions can take many forms.

Aquarius (The Water-Bearer) – January 20–February 18
The humanitarian visionary. Quirky, independent, often drawn to vintage or unusual collections.

Pisces (The Fish) – February 19–March 20
The beautiful dreamers. Intuitive to the point of uncanny. They swim between fantasy and reality like it’s nothing.

Why This Matters
Knowing your Sun sign is a doorway, not the whole house. Your Rising sign frames the first impression you make. Your Moon sign reveals the private emotional currents under the surface. The rest of your chart adds texture, contradiction, and depth — making you infinitely more than a blurb in a magazine.

As Cerasina grows, so will this space. I read and interpret natal charts, and I’ll be sharing more on planets, houses, aspects, and transits in the months ahead. If you’re curious, stay tuned — because the real magic happens when you connect the dots in your own sky.
