Setting Intentions for Holistic Wellness: A Personal Journey

By Terra Turner

Welcome to CherryCoBiz.com

As we approach the end of the year, it’s a time for reflection and setting intentions for the journey ahead. Today, I’d like to share a bit of my story, focusing on the holistic steps I’ve taken to improve my health and wellness. My hope is that it resonates with some of you and inspires reflection on your wellness journey.

Rethinking Drinking: A 40-Day Personal Challenge

Recently, I embarked on a 40-day challenge to abstain from alcohol, documented in my blog post Rethinking Drinking: A 40-Day Journey to Understanding Alcohol’s Impact on Health and Wellness. This journey is not just about personal health but understanding the broader effects of alcohol on our lives. Twelve days in, I’m already noticing positive changes, including enhanced relaxation during meditations and more vivid dream recall. These experiences are driving my curiosity about the role of alcohol in our lives.

Marijuana Use and Public Perception

Reflecting on public figures and their influence on substance use, I recently read about Snoop Dogg’s marketing ruse involving marijuana use. This raised questions about the role of celebrities in shaping public perceptions of marijuana. While I advocate for informed and responsible use, I believe it’s important to understand the complex nature of these substances and their impact on health and wellness. Read more about the topic here.

Setting Intentions for the New Year

Looking ahead, I invite you all to join me in setting small, achievable intentions for the new year. Whether it’s reducing alcohol consumption, quitting a habit, or incorporating new healthy practices, every small step contributes to a larger picture of wellness. Remember, the key to success is discipline and self-awareness.

Discipline and Mindfulness

Practicing discipline, especially in moments of temptation, is crucial. Simple techniques like waiting 15-20 minutes before indulging a craving can help retrain our brains. Additionally, mindfulness practices like meditation have been my solace in finding balance.

Embracing Change for Wellness

Over the years, I’ve learned that embracing change, no matter how small, can have a significant impact on our overall wellness. From quitting certain beverages to exploring the world of art and creativity, every step has been a part of my journey toward holistic health.

Conclusion

As we reflect on the past year and set intentions for the next, let’s embrace the evolution of our health and wellness journey. I encourage you all to share your experiences and intentions in the comments. Let’s support each other in this journey towards a healthier, more mindful life.
