Holding a Grudge: A Reflection on Growth and Realizations

Daily writing prompt
Are you holding a grudge? About?

Grudges can be illuminating, sometimes guiding us through life’s most unforeseen twists and turns. My grudge finds its roots not in personal animosity, but in the unyielding world of real estate, which I once embraced but eventually learned to navigate cautiously.

The year 2020 was transformative for me. A particular transaction during that period, one that should have been like any other, became the crucible where my trust and resilience were tested. The business side of real estate, often ruthless and cutthroat, overshadowed what should have been a straightforward professional engagement. This particular deal was the straw that broke the camel’s back, becoming my “deal breaker” in more ways than one. Though I had reasons and rights to take legal action, I opted against it. My spirit, though scarred, sought peace over confrontation.

Contrary to popular belief, grudges aren’t always chains that keep us bound to our past. This grudge, for instance, offered clarity. It taught me to prioritize genuine connections over fleeting transactional interactions and led me away from a draining profession.

I’ve since found a new direction in the realm of MLMs. It’s not just a career change but a lifestyle shift, focusing on genuine connections and personal growth.

With a decade-long practice of meditation under my belt, I’ve discovered solace and enlightenment. This discipline offers me a sanctuary, a space to process and heal. The grudge I hold isn’t a weight; it’s a beacon, reminding me of the lessons learned, boundaries established, and the new paths that await.

In sum, it’s not about the resentment or the pain. It’s about embracing the lessons, building resilience, and forging ahead. Today, I stand at peace, cherishing the present and welcoming the future with open arms.
